First we worked through a PowerPoint on the colon. The instructor showed examples of sentences using the colon in different ways. Then students practiced by writing their own sentences. We put examples of student work on the overhead doc cam.
Next we went over the poetry assignment. We chose dates for student presentations. Susan and Erin will be presenting on Nov. 5. We will put in the remainder of the presentation dates next week. Students are to also select their poetry genre by next week.
We went through a Powerpoint on the Greek theater.
We also discussed the funnel introduction. Next week students are to bring their three points. The instructor showed them how to prepare to write the funnel opening--either by outlining their paper with topic sentences listed under each point or through highlighting.
