We first talked about the portfolio and what had to be done to get the items into the most presentable, attractive form. The instructor asked students to put their market research form in a word doc and use the square box for the check mark area. This should be followed by a printout of the surveymonkey.com questionnaire.
The instructor returned the long sales letter outlines and gave students time to review her comments.
She then presented the assignment for the youtube video. The assignment was read in class and students were asked to note two text references on the assignment sheet: Arens, page 431 for the concept of storyboard and 432 for the video comp. Students were then shown examples of storyboards.
Students are obtaining youtube articles from the trade publications to a) see what the trade press is finding about this advertising medium and b) for possible information and ideas that will support our argument for the concept to our client. Trade publications/areas are listed at the end of this post.
Students discussed deadline dates. The due dates are posted on the calendar (see calendar link at left).
After the break, the instructor handed out a sample test. We are resuming readings in the Arens text and are working on Ch. 8. Students will take their first online test this week. The paper copy of the test was given to help students move into this new activity. The instructor recommended the students do the paper copy of the test as soon as possible so they are ready to take the test when she emails the link toward the weekend.
We watched the narrated slides for Ch. 8 and the instructor occasionally added examples.
After the narrated slides for Ch. 8, we watched the commercials that are discussed in the chapter.
