SEO

Points from "Last SEO Powerpoint1" see link from Tuesday class.

Tuesday
Note to students who are without a book section to review. I'm tied up through the late afternoon, so if you want to get started on this assignment, please go to the ebrary and choose a search engine optimization book and a selection to get started. Advise me of what you want to talk about. So far we have Dan covering conversion rates, Donna covering content, and Richie covering how search engines handle spelling.

Class 1

Dan has sent me the link for the Paolo Belletti project. I am excited about how good it looks! The Flash really works well. Richard has finished his, too! Donna's site. We looked at the sites, however briefly. Donna is going to put her files into her system instead of just on the Desktop. Also she is going to use DW to upload.

Please see this interesting comparison between Google and Bing.

SEO Powerpoint 1  We went through this Powerpoint.

 Tuesday, July 5:

Bone Tool .ppt  A worksheet accompanied this Powerpoint. The purpose of the worksheet was to help students remember the new terms and to reinforce the actions that can be performed in the pose layer, such as cutting and pasting frames, etc.

We worked through pages 300 through 309 with the bone tool. We did the chain animation and moved on to the robot, where we added some shoulder bones. After adding the shoulder bone, we learned how to limit range of motion on the arm (or any joint).

The instructor explained that it is important to do this as other poses (such as ones done from the hip or the knee) might send the arm flying in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction. This is not natural and will detract from the effectiveness of the animation.

At our next class we will do the remaining exercises in this chapter.

Students should look over the chapter (9 in CS4 book) on "Incorporating Non-Flash Media Files."
