ENG 102 Sat., 9-12:15

We started off by working on commas. The instructor showed students a .ppt and gave them a worksheet. We wrote sample sentences.

A 3-ring notebook of papers written for the poetry assignment was distributed and students had a chance to see how others from previous classes fulfilled this assignment.

The instructor looked at a new classroom. She is going to try to get us into L301 or L304/315.

We went over the Annotated Works Cited that students brought to class. We exchanged papers and students critiqued the work of their colleagues. Twenty-five CPPs were given to students who had this assignment in on time.

The instructor handed out an internal text citation worksheet. We went over two ways to do in-text citations and also how to attribute sources that have more than one author.

The instructor wrote a thesis statement on the board. Students are to write their own and bring it to the next class session.

To Do for Next Class:

Research paper:

-Find more sources (minimum 3 additional). Add to your existing Annotated Works Cited. Highlight the new sources with a highlighting marker. In addition, write in the left hand margin what the source is:  print book, online book, online magazine article, article at web site, etc.
-Read Ch's 3 & 8
-Write out a working thesis statement to turn in.

Obtain one more poetry source.
