In-text citations. Students had their Pt 1 written, so the instructor asked them to add their internal text citations according to the handout she provided. We first read the handout. Then we went through the citations and corrected them accordingly.
Current research for research paper topic. The purpose of this project was to make sure students are alerted to current developments in their field.
We went to the lab and the instructor gave students a lab worksheet. The purpose of the session was to make a personalized news page using the key words from the research in which the student is currently engaged. The instructor showed her own page, which is a Google page. Yahoo also has this service. Students extracted key words from their searches and from their research and built the page accordingly. Now all that needs to be done is to click the page once a day or once every few days and collect and save the stories pertinent to one's research.
