Social Advocacy What Happened in Class

The instructor gave students time to work on their group paper.

Next she introduced the subject of writing a letter to a legislator. This lesson was designed so the students paraphrased from a fact sheet about the issue.

The paraphrases were then turned into a letter to the students' representatives.

We wrote the letters and the instructor proof read them.

The instructor read and edited each letter, which was then returned to the student for mailing. Students were instructed to mail the letter immediately and to obtain
