Discussed flyer assignment (can be with or without coupon). Instructor told class about layouts. We watched a .ppt.
Instructor picked up add'l ad layouts.
We discussed Superbowl commercial viewing for Thursday. We chipped in for chips and snacks; everyone will bring their own beverage.
On Tuesday the coupon/flyer layout will be due.
Students should read the chapter on TV.

We wrote about what we did to obtain a Tower ad.
The instructor asked Daniel to tell the class about the new advertising rates. We went over the publication and deadline dates. Each student received one tri-fold advertising rate card.
We went over the magazine layouts by looking first at the student's choice of ads. Then we looked at the copy and layout. Students were given until Thursday to revise their layouts.
Students are to find a coupon for a future ad assignment that will be similar to the one on which we are currently working. In addition, students should be watching for packaging for a consumer product such as a printer, phone, an iron, a blender, or some other such object. We will be using this for the features/benefits class.
Students should be reading Ch's 7 & 8 in the text. Both chapters have to do with print and layouts.
